Job summary

Newark Sport and Event Commission DBA Lou & Gib Reese Ice Arena is seeking an Operations Coordinator to assist the Lead Operations Manager with facility maintenance, front-of-house needs, and staff supervision. You will help manage daily tasks, ensure the ice plant and equipment operate smoothly, and support arena programming and events.

The role requires a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, 1–2 years of related experience, and a willingness to obtain ServSafe credentials if needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Valid Driver’s License required.
• 1–2 years of progressively responsible experience in the field.
• Ice arena experience, ice resurfacer operation, skate sharpening, janitorial experience, and facility maintenance are relevant.
• ServSafe Certification – Manager Certification in Food Protection or Person in Charge preferred or obtainable within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Operations Manager to ensure ice plant, resurfacer, and facility operate optimally.
• Train and supervise Front of House, Back of House, and Ice Resurfacer Drivers staff.
• Assist with arena programming such as Skating for Schools and Adult Beginner League as assigned by the GM.
• Follow daily checklists including restocking, orders, POS monitoring, event set-up, and guest service.
• Maintain parking lot, walkways, banners, benches, snack bar equipment, and other facility items.
• Perform other duties as requested by GM, AGM, or Lead Operations Manager.
