Job summary

Holland America-Princess (Holland America Dawson City Inn) seeks an Ice Arena Assistant to support daily operations, open/close the arena, and help with public programs. You will also assist with scheduling, skate blade sharpening, and cleaning tasks to keep the facility safe and welcoming.

The role requires a high school diploma, 5 years of related experience, a valid Alaska driver's license, and the ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and physical.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assists the Ice Arena Manager with day-to-day arena operations.
• Opens and closes facility; secures facility at end of day.
• Reconciles cash receipts from the register.
• Promotes programs and services to the public.
• Assists with scheduling and registering for adult hockey leagues.
• Repairs and maintains mechanical equipment and ice surface.
• Maintains and repairs the facility and cleans restrooms/locker rooms.
• Sharpens skate blades and participates in snow removal operations.
• Maintains arena grounds and performs related duties.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for assisting in the operations of the ice arena.

Please Note: This position is a 6 Month Temporary Assignment from Date of Hire.

J1 - J5 - DOE

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.

• Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the occupational field, sufficient to understand the major duties of the position, and to be able to answer questions and resolve problems.
• Related experience includes: Ice arena experience, Zamboni/Olympia operating experience, facility maintenance, janitorial experience, skate sharpening, cash handling and customer service.

Possession of a valid driver’s license issued by the State of Alaska for the type of vehicle or equipment operated. Must be at least 19 years of age with one (1) year of driving experience.

Must successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical.
