Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Certified Professional Coder with 2–3 years of coding for professional services.
• Strong understanding of physiology, medical terms and anatomy.
• Proficiency in typing speed and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Abstract data following ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS guidelines and CMS directives.
• Enter abstracted patient information into the system.
• Query physicians when appropriate to ensure accuracy.
