Qualifications

• Excellent English written and spoken communication.
• Proven knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding guidelines.
• Experience with medical billing and EHR systems.
• Ability to read and interpret clinical notes.

Responsibilities

• Accurately assigns and sequences ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS codes for patient encounters.
• Ensures correct CPT/ICD-10 coding and proper sequencing per regulations.
• Queries providers when documentation is inadequate or unclear.
• Enters charges for E&M levels, infusions, and observation hours.
• Participates in continuing education to stay current with coding guidelines.
• Identifies discrepancies and billing issues; reports them.
• Reviews records to ensure documentation supports services and medical necessity.
• Adheres to ethical coding standards and data confidentiality.
• Utilizes safety protocols and DRH policy requirements; maintains attendance.
