Job summary

Healthcare Staffing Plus seeks a detail‑oriented Medical Coder Auditor Senior to independently review and translate clinical data into precise ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, and HCPCS/CPT codes for ED, ASC, HAS, OBS, IP and other facility encounters.

You'll utilize CBCT and OPTUM 360 EncoderPRO, access EpicCare records, validate CAC work, and ensure compliance with CMS guidelines while maintaining high productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Academic knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS and HCPCS/CPT coding guidelines.
• Experience with inpatient/outpatient facility coding requirements.
• Knowledge of CMS guidelines, HCC risk adjustment, and coding audits.
• Ability to validate dual coding and perform chart reviews for accuracy.
• Proficient use of EMR and coding research resources.

Responsibilities

• Proficiently review medical records and assign accurate codes for diagnoses and procedures.
• Validate CAC assignments and ensure proper APC/MS-DRG/APR-DRG sequencing.
• Utilize CBCT and EncoderPRO for professional and facility coding accuracy.
• Access EpicCare to obtain encounter information and abstract data elements.
• Identify incomplete or inconsistent documentation and communicate findings.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards, with 80%+ time on inpatient coding.
• Stay current with coding publications and participate in ongoing education.
