HealthPartners is seeking a Health Information Coding Analyst to support multiple sites and participate in complex coding scenarios for accurate ICD-10 and CPT coding. The role includes coding analysis of patient stays, ensuring accurate diagnoses, procedures, and data for reimbursement and statistics.

The position emphasizes home health and hospice coding support and requires knowledge of UHDDS guidelines, DRG considerations, and adherence to AHIMA/AAPC standards.

Competenze

• Graduate from an associate or bachelor’s degree in health information or completion of a coding specialist program or AHIMA/AAPC credential exam.
• 3-5 years’ experience in ICD-10/CPT coding.
• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification: CCA, CIC, COC, CCS, CPC, HCS-D, HCS-H, CEDC, CCS-P, RHIT or RHIA.
• Knowledge of CPT-4, ICD-10 CM/PCS coding guidelines.
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Intermediate computer skills.
• Ability to communicate information professionally and confidentially.

Mansioni

• Select diagnoses and procedures per current coding requirements for inpatient and outpatient services.
• Review provider documentation to determine principal diagnoses, comorbidities, secondary conditions, and procedures.
• Interpret coding conventions and definitions to select diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign POA values for inpatient diagnoses.
• Extract required information into encoder abstracting system.
• Identify non-payment conditions and report as needed.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines and data quality standards.
• Assist in training new employees and participate in department meetings.
