Job summary

Great Sky, Inc. invites an integrated circuit layout engineer to optimize superconducting circuitry for our AI hardware platform. You will design layouts for superconducting device cells and neural-network blocks, aiming for area efficiency, performance, and manufacturability, with Python-based tooling to scale layouts.

We’re open to mid-level through senior candidates; a B.S. in EE/CE/Physics (or equivalent) and 3+ years of IC layout experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in a relevant field.
• 3+ years of IC layout engineering experience in semiconductor or superconducting device domains.
• Experience with IC layout tools and formats such as Cadence Virtuoso, KLayout, Calibre, GDSII/OASIS, PCells, DRC/LVS.
• Strong scripting ability in Python for parametric or automated layout generation.
• Familiarity with post-layout extraction, parasitic-aware layout, or electromagnetic simulation workflows.
• Direct contribution to at least one successful IC tapeout, preferably with hierarchical layout or nonstandard constraints.

Responsibilities

• Create layouts for superconducting device cells, reusable circuit blocks, and larger neural-network structures.
• Optimize layouts for area, parasitics, device performance, manufacturability, and scaling.
• Extend and improve Python-based layout engine to scale to larger networks.
• Support post-layout simulation and verification of superconducting circuits.
• Collaborate with fabrication teams and external foundries to ensure successful manufacturing.
