Job summary

Alliant Energy Beloit seeks a T-Maintenance Technician IC&E/CT to support operations at its Beloit, Wisconsin facility. The role covers inspections, instrument control, electrical work, basic mechanical tasks and preventive maintenance on combustion turbine, HRSG, and steam generator equipment.

The technician will maintain logs, calibrate instrumentation, troubleshoot water treatment systems, and assist in overhauls while following safety and procedural guidelines.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years electrical or instrument and control college or 4 years of related experience, or completed apprenticeship.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Ability to read blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Performs combustion turbine operations, combined cycle, HRSG, and steam generator inspections and instrument control and electrical in a safe and efficient manner adhering to all corporate and company guidelines to ensure compliance with all city, state, and federal regulations.
• Participates in job safety briefings, safety tailgate sessions, safety reviews and safety observations.
• Observes, operates and initiates repairs to the combustion turbine, combined cycle, HRSG, steam generator and related equipment.
• Maintains an accurate operating log of all equipment and performs preventive maintenance.
• Maintains, operates and repairs water treatment systems. Receives and unloads acid and caustic trucks. Troubleshoots and repairs the water treatment systems controls and valves.
• Maintains optimum water treatment system performance.
• Calibrates and repairs recording and indicating instrumentation.
• Maintains water treatment systems. Performs tests and reports data on waste treatment systems.
• Maintains performance monitoring and control equipment. Monitors gas and steam turbine performance. Keeps testing records as assigned.
• Maintains warehouse, orders supplies as needed.
• Performs regular inspections of gas and steam turbines and auxiliary equipment utilizing Maximo. Participates during overhauls of all related plant equipment.
• Performs the instrument control and electrical, basic mechanical troubleshooting, maintaining, repairing, cleaning, inspecting and constructing of equipment and systems for the generation facility.
• Operates and/or obtains information from various electrical devices used to support specific equipment diagnostics or work activities; gathers, interprets and logs data.
• Is proficient in the use of machine tools and various hand powered tools as job needs dictate.
• Operates mobile and heavy equipment to perform maintenance tasks.
• Performs various welding activities.
• Supports safety, plant reliability, productivity, and plant efficiency improvements by participating in various continuous improvement activities.
• Performs all work according to established procedures and safety practices.
• Performs various generating plant and shop area housekeeping functions.
• Performs other duties which are similar, related, or incidental to this position.
