Job summary

Tenaska is seeking an I&E Technician to perform preventative maintenance on major plant equipment and backup systems. You will inspect, repair, install, and remove motors, generators, transformers, breakers, and control equipment while maintaining documentation and spare parts inventories.

You will calibrate field instrumentation, operate plant control systems such as DCS and MkV, and communicate equipment status to supervisors. Some blueprints reading and safety compliance are required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Instrument Technician Program.
• Two years' work experience as a technician in a related industry desirable.
• Four years work experience as a technician may substitute for the above requirement.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on major equipment and backup systems.
• Inspect, repair, install and remove motors, generators, transformers, breakers, switches and control equipment.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot field instrumentation, transmitters and valves.
• Operate and modify plant control systems (e.g., DCS, MkV).
• Identify and reorder spare parts; assist in inventories.
• Maintain equipment files, logs, and drawings.
