Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking an experienced IAM architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable identity platforms across the organization. You will drive modernization, define roadmaps, and work with Security, Infra, Product, and Engineering teams to deliver secure, seamless access.

The role emphasizes Zero Trust, strong authentication, and lifecycle management, with opportunities to mentor engineers and influence large-scale security decisions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or related technical discipline, or related practical experience.
• 5+ years in Identity & Access Management, Active Directory, workforce identity lifecycle management, RBAC, authentication, authorization, and SSO.
• 5+ years in application security, authentication and security protocols, cryptography, supply chain security and mobile security.
• 5+ years in security assessment methodologies such as threat modeling, design reviews, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Experience with programming languages such as Java, GoLang or Python

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and evolution of enterprise IAM platforms and services, enabling secure and scalable access across the organization.
• Engineer and deliver new identity capabilities that improve security, user experience, automation, and operational efficiency.
• Drive modernization initiatives by re-architecting legacy identity systems into resilient, cloud-ready platforms.
• Design solutions addressing performance, reliability, scalability, and availability of identity infrastructure.
• Define and execute the long-term technical strategy and roadmap for identity platforms, aligning with security objectives.
• Partner with Security, Infrastructure, Product, and Engineering teams to integrate identity services into enterprise applications.
• Establish engineering standards and governance for identity systems and services.
• Lead complex initiatives from concept to implementation, influencing stakeholders and driving execution.
• Evaluate emerging technologies to improve identity architecture and platform capabilities.
• Mentor engineers and foster technical excellence and innovation.
• Build platforms that support Zero Trust, strong authentication, and lifecycle management.
• Ensure identity systems meet compliance, audit, and regulatory requirements while maintaining user experience.
• Assess deployments for vulnerabilities and prioritize remediation based on risk.
• Develop secure-by-default architectures and processes.
• Maintain and improve systems supporting supply chain assurance.
• Evaluate new products/technologies, including potential acquisitions.
