Job summary

Energy Transfer in Geismar, LA is seeking an instrument and electrical technician to support construction, plant facilities and field operations. The role repairs, installs, troubleshoot, and performs maintenance on control systems, SCADA, compressors, and related equipment within gas and liquid facilities and pipelines.

The position requires reading manuals and schematics, testing and documenting safety devices per DOT regulations, and participating in on-call rotation and safety programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• Experience with SCADA, PLC/DCS, and instrumentation.
• Familiarity with DOT 192/193/195 testing and documentation.
• Knowledge of NEC and OSHA 1910 standards.
• Proficiency in MS Office including Outlook and Word.

Responsibilities

• Install, diagnose, and maintain SCADA, PLC/DCS, and instrument equipment.
• Inspect and repair control systems at plants, pipelines, and compressor stations.
• Read manuals, drawings, and schematics (P&IDs).
• Perform required safety checks and DOT compliance tasks.
• Support on-call and emergency response.
• Provide mentoring and oversight to less experienced staff.
