Job summary

NRG Energy’s Maintenance Supervisor, Instrumentation and Controls, leads maintenance, inspections, calibration and troubleshooting of power plant equipment while coordinating work in assigned areas with Plant Operations. You will manage schedules, ensure safety, and drive reliability in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or higher engineering/business degree is acceptable.
• Engineering/Business related degree preferred for supervision role.
• Two years of formal electronics/instrumentation training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain knowledge of equipment in the assigned area.
• Use the work management system for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Manage work backlog to maintain productivity and timely maintenance.
• Lead or support emergency response efforts (weather events, spills, etc.).
• Estimate resource requirements and ensure cost-effective use of company resources.
• Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness of equipment and plant.
• Communicate and lead in line with company vision and core values.
• Assign work and hold employees accountable for performance.
• Perform field inspections of job sites and progress.
• Assess risks and coordinate vendor selection for parts and services.
