Job summary

NRG is seeking a Journeyman I&C Technician to provide maintenance support for instrumentation on boilers, turbines, generators, and plant auxiliary equipment at our Houston-area plant. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair I&C systems, and may perform Master I&C Technician duties when needed.

The role requires 5–7 years of Power Plant I&C experience, a valid driver’s license, and a commitment to safety. You will document work and collaborate with apprentices to ensure reliable operations.

Qualifications

• Journeyman I&C Technician certification is required.
• 5–7 years of Power Plant I&C experience.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain instrumentation on boilers, turbines, generators and plant auxiliary equipment.
• Install, calibrate, test, and maintain protective relays and control systems.
• Read P&ID’s and CWD’s to locate, identify, troubleshoot, and repair plant systems.
• Complete written and electronic records documenting work in progress and completion.
• Collaborate with apprentice I&C technicians to ensure safe and efficient work.
