Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Mid Level Electrical/Controls Engineer for its Power Engineering district. The role focuses on evaluating engineering techniques, preparing designs and specifications, and coordinating with suppliers and construction partners across North America.

The position requires a degree in Electrical/Controls Engineering (ABET-accredited) with SCADA/PLC experience and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical or Controls Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Professional Engineer (PE) registration preferred.
Familiarity with control system programming concepts.
Experience with SCADA systems and PLC. DCS system experience desirable.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Strong written and verbal communications skills.
Attention to detail and ability to recognize discrepancies.
Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.

Responsibilities

Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques for projects of varying sizes and complexity.
Incorporate contract requirements to meet project goals.
Contribute to client proposals and cost estimates; lead planning studies and coordinate with engineers.
Develop and apply design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Prepare technical specs and bid evaluations; coordinate with suppliers and construction partners.
Schedule and coordinate design efforts with project teams.
Mentor entry and mid-level staff, providing coaching as needed.
Coordinate with internal and external partners on electrical/I&C design concepts.
