Job summary

Kiewit is seeking a Senior Design Engineer in Power Engineering to lead and support instrumentation and controls projects across North America. You will design, review, and implement SCADA/I&C solutions, mentor junior staff, and collaborate with vendors and partners to ensure safe, cost-effective, and compliant engineering outcomes.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• PE registration preferred.
• 10+ years in instrumentation and controls engineering for power projects.
• Experience with SCADA and PLC/DCS systems.
• Strong organizational, writing and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as lead or support engineer on SCADA/I&C projects for power facilities.
• Apply engineering techniques and criteria to projects of varying complexity.
• Incorporate contract and customer requirements to meet goals.
• Contribute to client proposals and project cost estimates; lead feasibility studies.
• Develop design calculations, drawings, and specifications in line with Kiewit guidelines.
• Prepare technical specifications and perform bid evaluations for equipment and contracts.
• Coordinate design efforts with project personnel across disciplines.
• Review supplier drawings and provide technical contract administration.
• Mentor entry and mid-level staff; provide direction and coaching.
• Coordinate with internal and external partners to address electrical/I&C concepts.
