Job summary

Stratolaunch in Mojave, CA is seeking a level II, Sr-, or Staff-level Mechanical Engineer to advance air-launched hypersonic avionics packaging and related systems. You will collaborate with mechanical, avionics and manufacturing teams to design enclosures, perform analyses, and guide producibility.

The role emphasizes hands-on packaging, structural and thermal calculations, and preparation for design and test readiness reviews, with opportunities to influence reliability and yield across

Qualifications

• Experience in electronics/avionics packaging.
• Ability to perform structural, thermal hand calcs and basic analyses.
• Experience with metallic structures design, analysis, and manufacturing.
• Experience with risk management and critical path workflow.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Develop and mature requirements for avionics systems.
• Design electronic enclosures and create 3D CAD models.
• Perform structural, heat transfer and thermal analyses.
• Create production drawings and liaise with machinists.
• Support manufacturing and flight test activities.
• Develop packaging processes to improve yield and reliability.
• Prepare content for design and test readiness reviews.
• Communicate with Avionics, Structures and Manufacturing leads.
