Job summary

Stratolaunch, LLC, based in Mojave, CA, seeks a Level II or Sr Avionics Engineer focusing on telemetry for hypersonic testbeds. You will design, integrate, test, and maintain avionics data systems, ensuring real-time data and post-flight logging support across multiple test ranges.

The role requires strong telemetry, data acquisition, RF, and networking expertise, plus the ability to obtain a SECRET clearance. Travel is possible to support tests and flight operations as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience Telemetry, Instrumentation, or Network engineering in test environments.
• Proficient with Ethernet networking and TCP/UDP/multicast.
• Experience with data acquisition instrumentation and distributed systems.
• RF device knowledge including transmitters/receivers/encoders/decoders.
• Experience with data loggers and acquiring mission data.
• Ability to write system requirements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain SECRET-level security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement instrumentation, network, and telemetry requirements and architecture for local and extended ranges.
• Prepare data systems for flight test and support flight operations.
• Assist in harness design for sensors and data units and for wiring harnesses.
• Configure aircraft instrumentation for real‑time and post‑flight data monitoring.
• Develop and maintain software tools for CM, simulation, deployment, and analysis.
• Define subsystem requirements for each new configuration and document changes.
• Design and support telemetry tests and instrumentation verification.
• Support integration testing including power checks and sensor calibration.
• Collaborate with design, network engineers and technicians to meet goals.
• Prepare data system material for design reviews and flight readiness reviews.
• Demonstrate integrity, responsibility, and commitment to duties.
