Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Hydropower team in Charlotte, NC. You will lead design and analysis for mechanical balance of plant upgrades, and coordinate with a multidisciplinary group on complex hydro projects.

Responsibilities include designing mechanical systems, preparing specs, evaluating bids, and supporting field activities from site inspections to commissioning. A PE license and Power Sector experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and PE license required.
• 5+ years in Power Market Sector project execution preferred.
• Experience with hydroelectric mechanical equipment and system upgrades.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support mechanical balance of plant upgrades at hydropower facilities.
• Produce P&IDs, equipment sizing, layouts and calculations.
• Prepare specifications, perform bid evaluations, and assist with client proposals.
