Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Hydrologist III or Engineer III with 2–5 years of experience for our Water discipline in one of our New England offices. The role emphasizes hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, urban stormwater focus, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team.

You will conduct analyses of surface water systems, develop watershed models, and prepare technical summaries for client and regulatory audiences, with some travel to sites in the region.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field is required.
• MS is a plus.
• EIT or ability to pass exam within six months preferred.
• Experience with hydrologic (HydroCAD, HEC-HMS) and hydraulic modeling (HEC-RAS, SWMM) is required.
• Experience with GIS analyses and mapping is required.
• Experience designing stormwater BMPs and green infrastructure is a plus.
• 0–5 years of experience; familiar with surface water hydrology and hydraulics.
• Interest in evaluation and computer-aided modeling; collaboration with remote coworkers.
• Valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses of surface water systems, including watersheds, rivers, and lakes.
• Model and support design of stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projects.
• Prepare Letter of Map Revision applications.
• Become proficient with HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and SWMM.
• Work independently and communicate results to a multidisciplinary team.
• Prepare concise written and verbal summaries for technical and lay audiences.
• Conduct field work to gather measurements and observations for model development.
• Some travel will be required to client meetings and project sites within New England and beyond.
