Job summary

Weston & Sampson Engineers Inc is seeking a Hydrologist III/Engineer III with 2–5 years of experience for our Water discipline in New England offices. You will analyze surface water systems, model stormwater BMPs and green infrastructure, and prepare map revision applications.

You'll work with HydroCAD, HEC-HMS/RAS, and PCSWMM, communicate results to a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to field data collection. Some travel across New England, mid-Atlantic, and Carolinas is expected.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering required; MS preferred.
• EIT or ability to pass exam within six months preferred.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling required.
• Experience with GIS analyses and mapping required.
• Experience modeling and designing stormwater BMPs; green infrastructure and LID a plus.
• 0–5 years of experience; able to collaborate remotely with office teams.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses and computer-aided evaluations of surface water systems.
• Model and support design of stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projects.
• Prepare Letter of Map Revision applications.
• Become proficient with HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and PCSWMM.
• Work independently and communicate results to a multidisciplinary team.
• Prepare clear written and verbal summaries for technical and lay audiences.
• Conduct field work to gather measurements and observations for model development.
• Travel to client meetings and project sites within New England and the mid-Atlantic.
