Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Hydrologist with 0-5 years of experience for our Water discipline in one of our New England offices. The role focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and urban stormwater.

The candidate will work on analyses of watersheds, rivers, and lakes, model BMPs, and prepare legal map revision applications. Travel to client sites in New England, Mid-Atlantic, and Carolinas is expected. Strong communication and field data gathering skills are required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering or related field is required.
• MS is a plus and Engineer-in-Training (EIT) preferred.
• Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling is required.
• Experience with GIS analyses is required.
• Willingness to travel within New England and beyond.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses of surface water systems including watersheds, rivers, and lakes.
• Model and support design of stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projects.
• Prepare Letter of Map Revision applications.
• Handle software such as HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and PCSWMM.
• Work independently and communicate results to a multidisciplinary team.
• Prepare clear written and verbal summaries for technical and lay audiences.
• Conduct field work to support surface water model development.
• Travel to client meetings and project sites in New England and beyond.
