Job summary

Weston & Sampson is seeking a Hydrologist III or Engineer III with 2-5 years of experience for our Water discipline in one of our New England offices. The role focuses on hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, urban stormwater, and related design support.

You will work with HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS and PCSWMM, conduct field data collection, and prepare technical summaries for diverse audiences. Travel within New England and nearby regions is required.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil or Environmental Engineering is required.
• MS in Civil or Environmental Engineering is a plus.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) or ability to pass exam within six months is preferred.
• Experience with hydrologic (HydroCAD, HEC-HMS) and hydraulic (HEC-RAS, SWMM) modeling is required.
• Experience with GIS analyses and mapping is required.
• Experience modeling/stormwater BMPs and green infrastructure is a plus.
• 0–5 years of related experience and familiarity with surface water hydrology and hydraulics.
• Willingness to collaborate remotely with coworkers in other offices.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses and computer-aided evaluations of surface water systems (watersheds, rivers, lakes).
• Model and support design of stormwater BMPs, green infrastructure, and LID projects.
• Prepare Letter of Map Revision applications.
• Become proficient with HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and PCSWMM.
• Communicate results to a multidisciplinary team.
• Prepare written and verbal summaries of technical material for technical and lay audiences.
• Conduct field work to gather measurements and observations for model development.
• Travel to client meetings and project sites within New England and beyond.
