Job summary

Heven AeroTech in Winchester, VA, seeks an Electronics & Programming Engineer to own the controls stack for hydrogen equipment. You will design PLC/HMI logic, integrate sensors, and lay out electrical architecture in rugged enclosures with close collaboration across mechanical, test, and hydrogen teams.

You will validate safety-critical logic, support field deployment, and maintain documentation, BOMs, and supplier decisions, while working in a lab and production setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3–6+ years in industrial controls, electronics, or embedded systems.
• Hands-on PLC programming (ladder/structured text) and HMI apps.
• Understanding of AC/DC power distribution and safety circuits.
• Ability to read drawings and electrical diagrams.

Responsibilities

• Design, program, and commission PLC and HMI logic for hydrogen subsystems.
• Develop electrical schematics and enclosure layouts with power distribution.
• Integrate sensors, actuators, and safety circuits with signal conditioning.
• Develop E-stop circuits, interlocks, and safety-relay logic.
• Collaborate with mechanical, test, and hydrogen teams on product designs.
• Define electrical test procedures and support environmental testing.
• Maintain BOMs, wiring diagrams, and as-built docs.
