Job summary

Heven AeroTech in Winchester, VA seeks an Engineering Production Manager for Hydrogen Systems to own early production and integration of hydrogen powertrains and generation systems. You will translate designs into repeatable workflows, lead the production team, and build the infrastructure for scalable operations on site.

You will collaborate with fuel cell and hydrogen systems engineering and production leads, managing schedules, tooling, and process automation as we move toward higher-volume

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 15+ years of experience in production/manufacturing/operations management, including scaling low-volume production of complex hardware.
• Experience building production processes, work instructions, and workflows from early-stage designs.
• Experience hiring, training, and directly managing production technicians and/or engineers.
• Experience with high-pressure gas or fluid systems or other hazardous-material hardware assembly.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and manage initial and low-volume production and integration, driving toward higher volumes.
• Translate maturing designs into defined, documented, and repeatable build processes, work instructions, and workflows.
• Lead and grow the production team, including hiring, training, and supervising build technicians and engineers.
• Build production infrastructure (work cells, tooling, fixtures, test stations) for safe hydrogen hardware and fuel cell systems.
• Own production scheduling and throughput, balancing builds, test articles, and customer deliverables.
• Develop and track the roadmap to scale production from initial/low-volume to higher-rate manufacturing.
• Drive continuous improvement in yield, cycle time, and cost via data collection and root-cause analysis.
• Ensure production processes comply with codes/standards (NFPA 2, ASME, CGA) and support hazard analyses.
• Collaborate with quality, supply chain, and program management to align plans with delivery commitments.
• Own safety culture on production floor, ensuring PPE and safety protocols.
