Job summary

Heven AeroTech in Winchester, Virginia, is seeking an Engineering Production Manager for Hydrogen Systems to own initial and low-volume production of hydrogen powertrains and generation systems. You will translate designs into repeatable, safe build processes and lead the production team on a daily basis.

Collaborate with fuel cell and hydrogen systems engineers to scale from prototype to higher-volume manufacturing, shaping roadmaps, staffing, and equipment while maintaining stringent safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering.
• 15+ years in production, manufacturing, or operations management.
• Experience standing up or scaling low-volume production of complex hardware.
• Experience hiring, training, and supervising production staff.
• Experience with high-pressure gas or hazardous-material hardware assemblies.
• Knowledge of pressure codes (ASME B31.3, CGA) and related standards.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Excellent communication across engineering, production and program teams.

Responsibilities

• Stand up initial and low-volume production and integration with a path toward higher volumes.
• Translate mature designs into defined, repeatable build processes and work instructions.
• Lead and grow the production team, including hiring and supervision.
• Build production infrastructure, tooling, fixtures, and test stations.
• Own production scheduling and throughput balancing nests of work and capacity.
• Develop roadmaps to scale production from initial to higher-volume manufacturing.
• Drive yield, cycle time, and cost improvements through data-driven analysis.
• Ensure processes meet NFPA 2, ASME, CGA, and DOT/DOE requirements and conduct hazard analyses.
• Collaborate with quality, supply chain, and program management on delivery commitments.
• Maintain safety culture for high-pressure hydrogen environments and PPE compliance.
