Job summary

ICW Group is seeking a Senior Claims Examiner to manage a moderate to highly complex claims inventory with a sense of urgency. You will collaborate with policyholders, agents, attorneys, and witnesses, investigate exposures, and drive equitable resolutions within company guidelines.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related claims experience; advanced workers' compensation knowledge and licenses are preferred. This position is hybrid and office-based in San Diego.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree plus 5+ years related claims handling experience.
• WCCA and WCCP preferred; State Workers’ Compensation license required in some branches.
• Strong knowledge of laws and jurisdictional restraints for claims management.
• Excellent verbal communication, time management, attention to detail and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of a moderate to highly complex claims inventory.
• Communicates with policyholders, agents, attorneys, and witnesses to gather information and provide customer service.
• Investigates claims promptly to determine exposure and makes strategic recommendations.
• Directs defense counsel through litigation processes per ICW guidelines.
• Resolves claims by applying appropriate tactics (mediation, negotiation, denial, litigation).
• Maintains accurate data in claims systems for regulatory reporting.
