Job summary

ICW Group in San Diego seeks a Workers’ Compensation Claims Examiner to handle a diverse claims inventory with emphasis on service quality. Training will be provided for California jurisdiction and related procedures.

Responsibilities include investigation, negotiation, and coordination with counsel to achieve equitable resolutions in line with company standards. The ideal candidate has strong communication skills and is comfortable navigating regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• 1–4+ years’ related claims or claims handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of a moderately complex claims inventory.
• Communicates with policyholders, agents, attorneys, and witnesses to gather information and provide high levels of customer service.
• Promptly investigates claims to determine exposure and makes strategic recommendations.
• Utilizes resolution tactics (mediation, negotiation, denial, litigation or offer) to drive outcomes.
• Collaborates with defense counsel throughout litigation and monitors costs and fees.
• Prepares and presents claims status reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Administers timely benefits to injured workers and manages payments within authority.
• Creates and adjusts reserves to align with company policies.
