Job summary

ICW Group in California is hiring a Claims Examiner to manage a moderately complex claims inventory and to deliver superior service to policyholders. The role requires handling workers’ compensation claims with adherence to state regulations and company guidelines.

You will investigate, negotiate, and resolve claims with support from counsel as needed. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) and 1–4+ years of related claims experience, plus knowledge of workers’

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required with 1–4+ years of related claims handling experience.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of a moderately complex claims inventory.
• Communicates with policyholders, agents, attorneys, and witnesses to gather information and provide high levels of service.
• Investigates claims promptly to determine exposure and collaborates with experts to make strategic recommendations.
• Utilizes resolution tactics (mediation, negotiation, denial, litigation or offer) to drive outcomes.
• Ensures compliance with state rules, regulations and internal policies.
• Partners with defense counsel throughout litigation while monitoring fees and costs.
• Resolves claims fairly and expediently, providing timely benefits as required by law.
