Job summary

ICW Group is seeking a Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner to handle a wide range of claims with focus on delivering excellent service to policyholders and the company. Training will be provided for handling California jurisdiction, with emphasis on accurate reserving and timely decision making.

The role requires strong communication, legal understanding, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while ensuring compliance with state rules and internal procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–4+ years' related claims handling experience.
• Knowledge of workers' compensation claims handling, reserving, litigation management, and resolution strategies.
• WCCA and WCCP preferred; State Workers' Compensation License may be required in some branches.
• Excellent verbal communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages all aspects of a moderately complex claims inventory.
• Communicates with policyholders, agents, attorneys, and witnesses to gather information and provide service.
• Investigates claims to determine exposure and makes strategic recommendations.
• Uses resolution tactics (mediation, negotiation, denial, litigation) to drive results.
• Follows state rules, regulations, and internal policies; coordinates with defense counsel as needed.
• Provides knowledge transfer across the organization and helps improve processes.
