Qualifications

10+ years of software engineering or development experience.
5+ years of technical leadership experience.
Proven experience building, leading, and scaling high-performing engineering teams.
Strong technical and architectural background with the ability to engage deeply with engineers.
Experience with modern cloud-based SaaS development environments.
Proven ability to recruit, motivate, develop, and retain strong technical talent.
Proven ability to manage in person and remote teams.
Strong understanding of AI-assisted software development and enthusiasm for helping engineers adopt AI code generation and coding agents.
Strong communication skills with the ability to translate technology into business outcomes.

Responsibilities

Lead and scale teams across software engineering, data science, and Salesforce development.
Define the technical vision, architecture, standards, and engineering strategy for Tractor Zoom.
Build a high-performance engineering culture centered around ownership, accountability, speed, quality, and continuous improvement.
Recruit, develop, motivate, and retain exceptional engineers and engineering leaders.
Lead from the front and remain willing to prototype, review architecture, troubleshoot problems, and work directly with engineers when needed.
Drive adoption of AI-assisted development tools, including AI code generation, coding agents, automated testing, debugging, documentation, and code review.
Establish practical standards and guardrails around AI-generated code, security, testing, quality, and maintainability.
Continuously evaluate new engineering and AI tools that can improve developer productivity.
Remove barriers that slow engineers down and improve how teams design, build, test, deploy, and monitor software.
Partner closely with Product and other business leaders to ensure engineering resources are focused on the highest-impact opportunities.
Build scalable, reliable systems while appropriately managing technical debt.
Measure and improve engineering productivity, software quality, delivery speed, and reliability.
Communicate technical strategy clearly to engineers, executives, customers, and the Board of Directors.
Serve as a mentor and coach while holding leaders and teams accountable for performance.
Ability to understand the technical undertaking of a problem, and determine an accurate timeline for completion.
