Job summary

Midcoast Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Vice President of Loan Operations to lead our consumer, indirect, and real estate loan operations and servicing. This leadership role emphasizes developing people, improving processes, and delivering an exceptional member experience.

You will oversee underwriting, processing, documentation, servicing, and asset‑quality practices while driving efficiency and cross‑functional collaboration across the credit union.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years in lending or related financial services.
• Experience leading and developing employees.
• Strong knowledge of consumer lending and loan operations.
• Sound judgment balancing member needs, service, compliance, and risk.
• Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and decision‑making skills.
• Continuous‑improvement mindset and comfort using technology to improve operations.
• Credit union or regulated financial‑institution experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop our loan operations team.
• Oversee underwriting, loan approval, processing, documentation, servicing, and asset‑quality practices.
• Create clear priorities, responsibilities, service expectations, and accountability.
• Improve workflows and use technology to make lending more efficient, accurate, and member‑focused.
• Monitor operational performance, workload, capacity, compliance, and risk.
• Partner across Midcoast to solve problems and continually improve the member and employee experience.
• Provide meaningful analysis and recommendations to support sound lending decisions.
