Bedford Greenwich Animal Hospital is hiring a full-time Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to support both medical and client-service aspects of the practice. The role combines patient care duties with front-desk responsibilities in a hybrid setting, serving the Westchester and Greenwich communities with high-quality medicine and personalized care.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a veterinary hospital or animal-care setting preferred.
• Experience assisting with patient care and veterinary procedures.
• Strong customer-service and client-communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization practices.
• Familiarity with medication administration and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians and Veterinary Technicians during examinations, treatments, surgeries, and other procedures.
• Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients.
• Prepare examination rooms, treatment areas, and surgical spaces.
• Clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment and hospital surfaces.
• Collect blood, urine, stool, and other diagnostic samples as directed.
• Help with basic laboratory testing and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer medications and treatments under the direction of the veterinary team.
• Welcome clients and patients with warmth and professionalism.
• Schedule appointments and support an efficient daily workflow.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records.
