• Previous veterinary assistant or veterinary reception experience is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Your day may take you from the front desk to the clinical floor and back again.
• You’ll work collaboratively with the entire hospital team to provide a smooth, compassionate experience for our patients and clients.
• Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during wellness and sick-patient appointments.
• Obtain accurate patient histories and communicate relevant information to the medical team.
• Safely and compassionately handle and restrain patients.
• Prepare exam rooms for appointments and procedures.
• Assist with basic laboratory tasks within your training and responsibilities.
• Support patient care and treatments as directed by the medical team.
• Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked clinical areas.
• Help keep patient care and hospital workflow efficient throughout the day.
• Welcome clients and patients with warmth, professionalism, and compassion.
• Answer incoming phone calls and assist clients with questions and requests.
• Schedule and coordinate appointments.
• Check clients and patients in and out of the hospital.
• Process payments accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain accurate client and patient information.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with pet owners.
• Coordinate communication between clients and the medical team.
• Help create a positive and organized client experience from arrival through checkout.
• Float between reception and clinical areas based on hospital workflow and team needs.
• Communicate effectively when transitioning between client-service and clinical responsibilities.
• Work collaboratively with veterinarians, technicians, assistants, receptionists, and hospital leadership.
• Jump in where needed to support teammates, patients, and clients.
• Contribute to an efficient, positive, and team-focused hospital culture.
