Job summary

Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to join our team. This hybrid role combines in-office collaboration three days a week with two days from home, supporting underwriting through data collection, organization, and risk assessment.

You will gather financial records, verify documents, and assist with administrative tasks while aligning with underwriting guidelines and partner agencies. Growth opportunities exist within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in the insurance industry, financial services, customer service or administration preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
• Strong verbal and written communication with internal and external customers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• High accuracy data entry and attention to detail.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Occasional travel less than 5%.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, and process financial records and other documentation for underwriting.
• Assist in gathering information at underwriting partner requests.
• Organize and maintain client files with accurate, up-to-date documentation.
• Support underwriting team with administrative tasks and report preparation.
• Collaborate with agency partners to collect compliance documents and address inquiries.
• Assess risk using Amerisure’s underwriting risk assessment tools.
• Identify discrepancies or missing information and resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate records of data.
• Learn and adhere to underwriting guidelines and procedures.
