Job summary

Amerisure Insurance Company is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team by gathering, verifying, and organizing data from policyholder applications and financial records. This role emphasizes attention to detail, organization, and teamwork to ensure accurate underwriting decisions.

The position offers a hybrid work arrangement (3 days in the local office, 2 from home) with locations including Indianapolis IN and other major offices.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in insurance, financial services or admin preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, and process financial records and other documentation needed for underwriting.
• Assist in gathering additional information at the request of underwriting partners.
• Organize and maintain client files, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Support underwriting team with administrative tasks such as document organization and report preparation.
• Collaborate with agency partners to collect compliance documents and address inquiries.
• Assess risk by accurately completing Amerisure’s underwriting risk assessment tools.
• Identify discrepancies or missing information and address issues.
• Maintain accurate records of data and activities.
• Assist the underwriting team with administrative duties and reporting.
• Learn and adhere to underwriting guidelines and procedures.
