Job summary

Amerisure is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting team by gathering, verifying, and organizing data from policyholder applications and financial records. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team to ensure accurate underwriting decisions are made.

The position offers a hybrid schedule (3 days in-office, 2 remote) with office locations including Phoenix AZ.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in insurance, financial services, customer service or administration is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with internal/external customers.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills.
• Accurate data entry with high accuracy.
• Ability to travel occasionally (less than 5%).

Responsibilities

• Collect, review, and process financial records and other documentation for underwriting.
• Assist in gathering information requested by underwriting partners.
• Organize and maintain client files with complete and up-to-date documentation.
• Support underwriting team with administrative tasks and report preparation.
• Collaborate with agency partners to collect compliance documents and address inquiries.
• Assess risk using Amerisure's underwriting tools and guidelines.
• Identify discrepancies and resolve missing information in applications.
• Maintain accurate records of data and documentation.
• Learn and adhere to underwriting guidelines and procedures.
