Job summary

Mission Underwriting Services is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting process for commercial lines. You will work closely with Program Series Underwriters and brokers to ensure accurate policy processing and timely endorsements.

The role emphasizes mentoring, subject matter expertise, and adherence to SOPs while assisting with PAS-related tasks and special projects.

Qualifications

Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment.
2+ years minimum directly supporting property underwriters.
Bachelor's degree; OR 4+ years of experience in insurance underwriting.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with Underwriters to quote, bind, and issue policies and endorsements.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with brokers.
Prepare and review policy files and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Request and verify Broker of Record letters and other underwriting documentation.
Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and SOPs.
Prepare policies for issuance using the Policy Administration System (PAS).
Lead or assist PAS testing and review initiatives with management.
Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
