Job summary

Canopius Group is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting process and the policy lifecycle end-to-end. You will assist underwriters, work with brokers to obtain information, fulfill servicing needs and coordinate with internal teams to resolve data and cash flow issues.

The role emphasizes timely processing, strong organization, and attention to detail within a hybrid working environment.

• Prior insurance exposure required.

Responsibilities

• New Business Support: Submission clearance, information follow-up, sanctions checks, triage, quote letter, catastrophe modelling if required, binders, policy system processing, surplus lines licensing, and file maintenance.
• Renewal Business Support: Information follow-up, renewal applications, loss information, triage, quote letter, catastrophe modelling, binder, system processing, licensing, and file maintenance.
• Premium Invoicing and Collections: Generate invoices, pursue and resolve past-due premiums with Premium Accounting.
• Policy Servicing: Issue endorsements, process cancellations, system transactions, broker follow-ups, ceded reinsurance administration, broker of record, ensure SLAs, and monthly closings.
• Testing, Subject Matter Expertise and Projects: Participate in testing and projects as assigned.
