Job summary

Mission Underwriting Managers, LLC seeks an Underwriting Assistant to support the underwriting process and deliver high-quality service to clients. This role partners with Program Series Underwriters and brokers to ensure accurate and timely policy processing while mentoring and serving as a subject matter expert within the team.

The position collaborates across teams to quote, bind, and issue policies, maintain broker relationships, and ensure compliance with SOPs.

Qualifications

• Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment.
• 2+ years minimum directly supporting property underwriters.
• Bachelor's degree; OR 4+ years of experience in insurance underwriting.
• Working knowledge of PDF, MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the year.
• Experience in the commercial insurance industry and regulatory environment.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Underwriters to quote, bind, and issue policies and endorsements.
• Maintain and strengthen relationships with brokers.
• Prepare and review policy files and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Request and verify Broker of Record letters and other underwriting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and SOPs.
• Prepare policies for issuance using PAS.
• Lead or assist in PAS testing and review initiatives with management.
• Participate in special projects and additional responsibilities as assigned.
