Job summary

Aon PLC in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking an Underwriting Specialist II for a hybrid role. The position supports the Mass Merchandising business within Aon Affinity, handling client inquiries, underwriting documents, and renewal activity.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year in an office/insurance setting, with strong communication, organizational skills, and the ability to adapt to changing guidelines. P&C license is preferred and in six months. Benefits.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of office and/or administrative background.
• P&C license preferred/must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Customer Service experience including verbal/telephone skills.
• 1-2 years Insurance industry experience preferred
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work with frequent and multiple policy, procedure, and regulation changes.
• Proficiency at keying alpha and numeric information with accuracy and speed.
• Knowledge of basic equipment functions, such as how to create and maintain files, printing, copying, faxing, phone messaging and voicemail.

Responsibilities

• Answer client phone calls and communicate program guidelines.
• Review, evaluate and approve insurance applications and related documents.
• Follow up with clients or agents for missing information.
• Prepare files for renewal solicitation and verify underwriting parameters.
• Communicate with policy operations to bind accounts or fulfill requests.
• Develop and maintain relationships with underwriters, brokers, and operations colleagues.
• Assist in review and assignment of emails in shared mailboxes.
