Job summary

Aon Corporation seeks an Underwriting Specialist II for our Ft. Wayne, IN office in a hybrid role. You will review and approve applications, communicate program guidelines to clients, and coordinate with policy operations to bind accounts.

This position supports Aon’s K&K Insurance group Mass Merchandising within Aon Affinity. We value strong customer service, organizational skills and adaptability to policy changes.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of office and/or administrative background.
• P&C license preferred/must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• Customer Service experience including verbal/telephone skills.
• 1-2 years Insurance industry experience preferred
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work with frequent and multiple policy, procedure, and regulation changes.
• Proficiency at keying alpha and numeric information with accuracy and speed.
• Knowledge of basic equipment functions, such as how to create and maintain files, printing, copying, faxing, phone messaging and voicemail.

Responsibilities

• Answer client phone calls and explain program guidelines to clients and answer questions.
• Review, evaluate and approve insurance applications and related documents.
• Follow up for pending information for complete submission.
• Prepare files for renewal solicitation; verify accounts meet underwriting guidelines.
• Communicate with policy operations to bind accounts or fulfill requests.
• Maintain relationships with underwriters, brokers and operations staff to provide quality service.
• Assist in review and triage of e-mails in shared inboxes and websites.
• Meet minimum performance standards set by KPIs.
• Support a tiered phone system for agents or insureds.
