Job summary

Aon is seeking an Underwriting Professional I in Fort Wayne, IN, a hybrid role with 2 days in the office and 3 remote. You will underwrite multi-line P&C commercial accounts, following guidelines, ensuring accuracy, and supporting carrier administration standards.

The position requires a P&C license, at least 5 years of underwriting experience in commercial packages, knowledge of E&S markets, and strong communication and analytical skills to serve clients and the marketplace.

Qualifications

• 5+ years working and underwriting P&C Commercial package insurance.
• P&C license required.
• Multi-line commercial lines product knowledge.
• Experience in the E&S markets, understanding state regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills necessary to communicate in a professional manner with clients and the marketplace.
• Analytical skills – problem solving.
• Ability to work in fast pace environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwrites Multi-line accounts accordance with agreed upon underwriting guidelines, regulatory compliance and carrier administration standards requirements (standard / non-standard market).
• Deliver high quality /accuracy of the product for client’s new and or existing accounts.
• Use sound judgment and independent thinking to achieve the maximum result within authority and state guidelines.
• Identify premium growth opportunities with current book by cross sell offering other coverage.
• Collect/monitor competitive intelligence on all key competitors within assigned areas; anticipate client’s needs by contributing to research and development of products /endorsements.
• Works with Underwriting Staff to coordinate and prepare rating information in carrier system(s) and provide advice on best practices for selling the products to clients.
• Work within the E&S market.
• Works independently with moderate guidance and supervision.
• Actively seeks out new and challenging projects.
• Performs other duties as required.
