Job summary

Tighe & Bond in Westwood, MA is seeking a Transportation Engineering Intern to support roadway design and traffic studies across the Northeast.

You will work with our Transportation Team in a hybrid office setting, using AutoCAD Civil 3D and MicroStation to develop plans, and participate in field observations and construction documentation. The internship offers mentorship, structured learning opportunities, and a chance to contribute to sustainable infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or related degree.
• Coursework or experience related to roadway design or traffic studies or other related coursework and experience.
• Strong interest in transportation engineering, roadway design, or traffic analysis.
• Intellectual curiosity and a desire to solve engineering problems.
• Effective communication skills and attention to detail.
• Flexibility, a positive attitude, and open-mindedness.

Responsibilities

• Assist in roadway and intersection design, including traffic control and signage
• Help prepare construction documents, technical specifications, and cost estimate
• Participate in field visits and construction observations
• Use design tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation to support plan development
