Tighe & Bond in Shelton, CT (hybrid option with Middletown, CT) seeks a Transportation Engineering Intern to support roadway design, traffic studies, and smart infrastructure projects across the Northeast. You will work with experts to deliver sustainable solutions and gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, flexible environment.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Civil Engineering degree, have coursework in roadway design, and show strong communication and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an Associate’s or Bachelor’s program in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Coursework or experience in roadway design or traffic studies.
• Interest in transportation engineering and traffic analysis.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Assist in roadway and intersection design, including traffic control and signage.
• Prepare construction documents, specs and cost estimates.
• Participate in field visits and construction observations.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D or MicroStation to support plan development.
