City of Bellevue, Washington is seeking a Capital Projects Coordinator to help build and improve Bellevue’s 90‑mile park trail system and other capital projects within the Parks & Community Services department. You will collaborate with planning, real property, and transportation teams to advance projects from planning through construction.

The role emphasizes urban trail development, public engagement, and contract management while aligning with equity and service standards.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional-related experience in managing the construction of capital projects.
• Background in public administration, urban planning, landscape architecture, urban forestry, project management, civil engineering, or related field.
• Experience with budgeting, cost estimating, and public bidding processes.
• Strong communication and collaboration across teams and with city stakeholders.
• Knowledge of public sector operations and project management methodologies.

Responsabilités

• Oversee capital trails program planning and implementation with cross‑department collaboration.
• Develop prioritized project lists and provide senior leadership with constructability recommendations.
• Coordinate with Natural Resources, Transportation, and Real Property on trail development and easements.
• Manage life cycle from planning to construction administration for park projects ranging $100,000–$2,000,000.
• Lead public engagement and prepare contract documents, permits, and grant applications as needed.
• Support long‑range planning, policy development, and strategic plan implementation.
