Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of one year scheduling experience in a surgery center or medical office.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and patient confidentiality.
• Experience with EMR and scheduling software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Schedule office, surgery centers, and hospital procedures with appropriate provider and slot.
• Pre-authorize surgeries with insurance and enter data into scheduling systems.
• Maintain surgical log for statistics and analysis.
• Provide pre-surgical packets with dates and instructions.
• Coordinate with facilities for equipment or personnel needs.
• Ensure pre-operative labs are ordered and tracked in the EMR.
• Audit automated phone system to reflect schedule changes.
• Verify accuracy of schedules before publication.
• Interact with staff and patients with empathy and professionalism.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
