Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Project Manager I (PM I) to support substation engineering projects for electric utilities across the Northern United States within the Power Delivery Solutions division. The role offers a hybrid work environment with in-office collaboration and can be performed from Walled Lake, MI; Pittsburgh, PA; or Chicago, IL depending on location.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Business, Finance or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of project management experience.
• Experience with project management software (MS Project, P6).
• Experience managing budgets, schedules, and scopes; strong client interaction.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead project teams to complete engineering designs of various sized electric infrastructure projects for electric utilities.
• Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting.
• Manage project costs, schedule and scope within approved limits, including the development of recovery plans when needed.
• Ensure contract compliance.
• Drive work products by coordinating and working with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables.
• Ensure and document adherence to the quality control process.
• Interface directly with the client and internal management to solve issues and report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks across a program of projects.
• Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel.
• Prepare bid documents; Develop cost estimates and responses to Requests for Proposal.
• Complete monthly invoices, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames.
• Identify business development opportunities.
