Job summary

Leidos is seeking an Associate Project Manager in Walled Lake, MI to work alongside project managers, lead engineers and account managers supporting electric utility clients. Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 remote.

The role is temp-to-perm with potential to become a direct Leidos employee in about 6 months. You'll join our Power Delivery Solutions PMO, providing project management services for distribution line engineering across the Midwest and Northeast, with growth opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance or related discipline is required; or Associates Degree with 2+ years of demonstrated experience in project management and/or project coordinating.
• Must be capable of planning, organizing, directing, and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasks.
• Must be capable of tracking cost and schedule status of assigned tasks.
• Ability to take direction from and discuss decisions with the direct supervisor, and to coordinate with project team members.
• Experience with MS Office Software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be able to interact with customer representatives in an effective manner.

Responsibilities

• Assist project managers to manage various sized distribution line design projects for public-owned and investor-owned electric utilities.
• Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting.
• Ensure project costs, schedule and scope are managed, including the development of recovery plans with a focus on change management, to stay within approved limits.
• Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel.
• Create and maintain resource loaded schedules.
• Coordinate with Engineering Leads to track and execute client deliverables.
• Assist with the preparation of bid documents, cost estimates and responses to Requests for Proposal.
• Complete monthly client invoicing, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames.
