Job summary

Leidos is seeking a Project Manager I to join the Power Delivery Solutions team, supporting substation engineering projects for electric utilities across the Northern United States. The role offers hybrid work with regular in-office collaboration and can be performed from Walled Lake, MI; Pittsburgh, PA; or Chicago, IL.

As PM I you will lead project teams, manage costs, schedule and scope, ensure contract compliance, and coordinate with engineering leads, clients and management to deliver

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance required.
• At least 3 years of project management experience.
• Experience with MS Project or Primavera P6.
• Experience managing budgets, proposals, scopes and schedules.
• Willingness to travel (<2%) and a valid US driver's license.
• Hybrid work arrangement with 2–3 days in office at Walled Lake, MI; Pittsburgh, PA; or Chicago, IL.

Responsibilities

• Independently lead project teams to complete engineering designs of various sized electric infrastructure projects for electric utilities
• Accept responsibility for overall project performance and reporting
• Manage project costs, schedule and scope within approved limits, including the development of recovery plans when needed
• Ensure contract compliance
• Drive work products by coordinating with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverables
• Ensure and document adherence to the quality control process
• Interface directly with the client and internal management to solve issues and report progress, costs, schedule adherence and risks across a program of projects
• Communicate with clients, internal project teams, multiple engineering disciplines, functional leaders, subcontractors, and support personnel
• Prepare bid documents; Develop cost estimates and responses to Requests for Proposal
• Complete monthly invoices, accruals, and accounts receivable within prescribed time frames
