Job summary

HMB Professional Engineers, LLC in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Transportation team. You will design bridges, culverts, and retaining walls using reinforced concrete, steel, and timber, and support senior staff on complex projects.

The role requires a PE license and 5+ years of structural design experience, with DOT project exposure preferred. A hybrid work schedule and competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Civil Engineering is required.
• Registration as a licensed Professional Engineer is required.
• 5+ years of experience in structural design is required.
• Experience designing transportation structures including bridges, culverts, and walls is required.
• DOT project experience is preferred.
• Ability to guide junior staff and participate in design and detailing.

Responsibilities

• Design transportation-related structures including bridges, culverts, and walls with reinforcedConcrete, prestressed concrete, steel, and timber.
• Assist senior design staff in structural design, drafting & review.
• Collaborate with structures group, other disciplines, and clients to complete projects.
• Ensure designs comply with local, state, and federal guidelines and codes.
• Develop engineers cost estimates.
• Guide junior staff with direction and feedback.
